In Loving Memory of Richard "Rick" Vernon Goodrich
1960 - 2026

Richard Vernon Goodrich ("Rick"), 66, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2026. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Papa Rock", he found his purpose quietly, in his work and, above all, in his family.

Born September 1, 1960, to Vernon and Glenda Goodrich, the younger brother to his sister, Debbie Leatherwood (Goodrich). On September 18, 1982, he married the love of his life, Sherry. Together they raised two children, son Michael and daughter Lynnette Hicks (Goodrich), and built a family that would come to mean everything to him. Rick spent his life working in welding repair, culminating in 2018 when, alongside his son, he opened Goodrich Welder Repair.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Goodrich; mother-in-law, Karen; father-in-law, Tom; sister-in-law, Shirley; and brother-in-law, Kurt. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his mother, Glenda; his sister, Debbie (and Glen); his children, Michael (and Sabine) and Lynnette (and Teddy); his grandchildren, Hanna, Lauren, Evan, Bailey, and Teddy III; his great-grandchildren, Laiken, Loghan, Hudson, and Easton; brother-in-law Tom, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him.

Rick preferred quiet moments with family over any spotlight, and that's exactly how he'd want to be remembered, as a husband, father, Papa Rock, and a man who did right by the people he loved.

A graveside service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you simply hug the ones you love a little tighter.
