Richard Eugene Carr

In Loving Memory of Richard Eugene Carr
1938 - 2026

Richard Eugene Carr, son of Sylvester & Claudia, passed away on September 23, 2026.

Richard excelled in academics, graduating with honors in high school and from the University of Arizona. This is where he received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He pursued his education, earning two Master's degrees in Advanced Engineering.

After college, Richard served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1963-1965, with the rank of E-4.

After the Army, Richard was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company, working in New Mexico and Texas as a Project Lead Engineer. He retired after 25 years of loyal service.

Richard had many interests, some of which were archaeology, American Indians, Civil War, and WWII history. He was also a student of religious history. Some of his other interests were running, golf, and competing in Senior Olympics, where he won several medals. He was also a volunteer track coach at Farmington, New Mexico High School.

Richard was a man of honesty and integrity, with Christian principles of Jesus as his blueprint. He was a generous man, donating to many charities and causes, touching the lives of many people.

Richard was a lifelong Christian and was a member of the Church of Christ, where he often led singing services.

Lastly, Richard's love and passion for music gave him great joy and satisfaction. He sang in community choirs and with a Barbershop Quartet, participating in concerts they gave in the community. Even in his passing days, he was still singing, always having a song in his heart and a smile of joy it gave him.

Our prayer is that Richard's love for God and Jesus will give him the everlasting joy and peace of mind he deserves. With this, we pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
