IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Dwayne
Burch
October 31, 1955 – October 15, 2021
Richard (Red) Burch passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 with family by his side in Fort Worth, Texas at age 65. He fought a courageous 3-month battle with stage IV metastatic lung cancer.
Red was a cowboy through and through. His love of horses and playday riding events were very much a large part of his life. His favorite saying was "THIS AINT MY FIRST RODEO"! He was always making family and friends laugh at his own expense, including wearing wigs, eating jelly-belly beans with rank flavors like, dirt, earthworm, rotten egg, etc. and he would often fall victim to the pranks of his sister in law Brenda, who often threatened "don't make me bring my board" if he got out of line.
His interests were fishing, picnics on the lake, lazy country drives, watching Yellowstone, good home cooked meals and country music.
Red's unwavering love for his family and his new bride, Teresa made him feel like a millionaire. He had the true grit of John Wayne, with a Texas-sized heart that knew no boundaries. Red is survived by his wife, Teresa; sons, Joel Rister and Chuck King and spouse Amanda; daughter, Micah King; sisters, Paula Blagg and Jan Wilson Johnson; brother, Robert Wilson and spouse Carole; his aunt, Dorothy O'Bryant of Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Burch, his mother Hazel Burch and brother, Johnny Burch.
