In Loving Memory of Peggy Diana Lee
1957 - 2024
Peggy Diana Lee, a cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Bedford, Texas, on September 11, 2024. Born on October 28, 1957, in Thomasville, Georgia, Peggy was the beloved daughter of Harold Paulk and Margie Hannah Paulk. Raised in Haltom City and later a proud graduate of Azle High School, Peggy carried the spirit of her Southern roots throughout her life.
Peggy and Jeff Lee's love story began with a deep and lasting connection that led them to marry on May 23, 1988, in Louisiana at Fountain Blue Park underneath centuries old cypress trees elegantly covered in Spanish moss. The ceremony was picture perfect; and Jeff will cherish the memory of that day for the rest of his life. Their bond was truly special—they were soulmates who found joy and purpose in navigating life together. Their unwavering devotion and shared happiness created a life rich with love and companionship.
Peggy's upbringing in a Baptist family instilled in her a strong sense of faith and community. She was baptized as a child and held those values close to her heart. Her love for animals was profound; her loyal dog Flossie was a constant companion, and her family often joked that she was like Snow White, surrounded by her furry friends. Peggy's passion for the outdoors was evident in her beautiful garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her plants and flowers, showcasing her green thumb and love for nature.
A skilled cook and a family-oriented individual, Peggy's home was always filled with warmth and laughter. She took immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, and her dedication to her granddaughter, Mea Rain Malone, was unwavering. Peggy was actively involved in all of Mea's activities, always there with encouragement, love, and support.
Peggy's intelligence, quick wit, and humor made her a joy to be around. She faced life's challenges with resilience and strength, earning the admiration of all who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her as a tough yet tender-hearted woman for whom family was everything.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Lee; her daughter, Amber Verasammy, and her husband, Aaron Verasammy; her granddaughter, Mea Rain Malone; and various extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margie Paulk, and her brother, Victor Paulk.
Peggy is up in heaven with a bottle of wine and two glasses, waiting on her best friend Helen to join her.
