Michael Wayne Nelson, 61, of Azle Texas, passed from this life on December 25, 2021, with his devoted wife by his side.
Michael was born October 27, 1960 in Ogden, Utah, son to father, Morris John Nelson, and mother, Bobbie Raye Miller. Michael worked as a custodial worker for Ogden City School District, Azle ISD, and Abilene ISD. Michael was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, visiting with his grandchildren, and was a lifelong fan of the Utah Jazz. Michael will be remembered for his quirky and fun sense of humor and for his gentle nature.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Morris Lynn Nelson.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Dee Ann Nelson; sister, Ronda Glines; step-children, Gary and Alida Fitzgerald, Matt and Danielle Vivion, Christopher and Ashley Fitzgerald, and Kimberly Prather; as well as eight grandchildren, Gabrielle, Destiny, Kirsten, Constance, Katie, Hayden, Piper, and Lincoln.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1010 Timberoaks Drive, in Azle Texas at 11am. The viewing will be from 10am to the time of the service.
