Melinda Sue Soileau
1966 – 2018

Melinda Soileau was called home Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from Harris Methodist Hospital Ft. Worth, TX. She was born September 20, 1966 in Shreveport, LA, later moving to East Texas and eventually to the Ft. Worth area.  Melinda's pride and joy in her life were her loving children and her precious Grandchildren.  Spending time with them was what she looked forward to each day.  She was a very talented cosmetologist by trade and it seemed to come naturally to her.  She worked in her daddy's shop and several different salons in the years to follow.  She even had the opportunity to proudly work backstage at the Miss USA Pageant in Shreveport.  Recently she was employed by UPS in Ft. Worth.  A passion of Melinda's was quilt making.  She made quilts for all her children and grandchildren, and some for family and friends.  She also enjoyed creating, beaded bracelets and loved giving them away, even right off her own wrist.  She was an awesome cook and loved watching everyone savor her cooking, especially her delicious gumbos.  Melinda loved hard and had a crazy loud laugh that was contagious.  She was famously known by her beautiful, thick, long mane of red hair.  She had a ton of friends from all walks of life.  Melinda will be terribly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her daddy, Jesse Soileau.

She is survived by her mother, Linda Soileau; her children, Alyse, Alexa and Jesse, and their father Stan Craven; her grandchildren, Loganne, Daegan, Lathan and Landry; her sister, Felicia and her husband Greg; niece and nephews, Brinkley, Trevor and Dillon.  She is also survived by lots of loved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  Melinda, Mindy, Mom, Granny, Red, whatever you called her, she loved you and you knew it.
