Mary Kathrine "Kathy" Stevens Markwell

March 22, 1968 – November 7, 2025

Mary Kathrine "Kathy" Stevens Markwell, 57, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on November 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with liver, kidney, and heart failure.

Born on March 22, 1968, in Azle, Texas, Kathy spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved most. A talented cosmetologist, she found joy in helping others feel confident and beautiful. Her creativity and warmth shone through everything she did, from her work to her laughter-filled karaoke nights.

Kathy had a love for life's simple pleasures — a good guitar solo, a scary or funny movie, and a delicious meal shared with loved ones. Food, for her, was truly a love language. She adored yellow roses, a reflection of her bright and caring spirit.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Markwell; her mother, Evelyn Stevens; her brother, John Stevens and his wife Debbie; and her beloved children and grandchildren: Breanna Minyard, Lisa Markwell, Chloe Markwell, Raygen Markwell, and Mark Markwell as well as husband's oldest son Jason Markwell. She also leaves behind many extended and blended family members and dear friends who meant so much to her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved father, MacArthur Stevens, and her grandparents, Mary and Elwood Schoonover, Brother in law Tomas Markwell, Mother in law from her first marriage Sylvia Jeanette Minyard. Her husbands oldest daughter Becky Markwell and her best friends son John Michael Thomason. She joins them now and will wait to see us all again in Heaven.

Kathy's memory will live on in the laughter, love, and music she shared with everyone who knew her.

Services: No formal service will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life cookout will be planned and announced at a later date.
