Mary Virginia Dolen was born on April 28, 1927, in Mangum, OK. She went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion,

Mary embarked on a journey of giving back to her community from an early age. Her commitment to the town of Azle was unparalleled, as she tirelessly worked to improve the lives of its residents.

Mary's career as a police dispatcher showcased her unwavering dedication to public safety. Her sharpshooter training exemplified her commitment to excellence and her willingness to go above and beyond in her role.

As an LPN, Mary blazed trails by establishing Azle's first ambulance service, providing critical care to those in need during emergencies. Her compassion and quick thinking undoubtedly saved countless lives.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mary's volunteer work at her church, where she served in security and dispatch roles, further demonstrated her servant heart. She found fulfillment in being in the midst of action, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.

Mary's mischievous spirit and keen sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her. She had a knack for playing jokes and lightening the mood, even in the most challenging of times.

Mary has been reunited with her husband, Billy Dolen; children, Vada Naron and Billy Dolen; and three of her grandchildren, in God's Eternal Kingdom.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Deborah Wood and husband, Herby, and Donna Williams and husband, David; son, Larry Garrison and wife; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 PM with interment to be rendered at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park.
