In Loving Memory of Mark Paul Carter

August 27, 1948 - June 15, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Paul Carter, a beloved husband, father, teacher, and friend. Mark's journey began on August 27, 1948, in Electra, Texas, as the cherished son of Jack Carter and Marie Flusche Carter. He peacefully departed from this world on June 19, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

In 1969, Mark embarked on a beautiful chapter of his life when he married Sandra Duncan. Their union was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. Together, they created a life that touched the hearts of many and served as an inspiration to those around them.

Mark's pursuit of knowledge led him to West Texas University, where he earned a bachelor's degree. In 1970, he and Sandra settled in Azle, where Mark dedicated his passion and expertise to teaching and coaching for an admirable span of 30 years. He influenced countless lives during his tenure, leaving a lasting impact on the community and his students. Mark's commitment to education went far beyond the classroom; he became a mentor and a friend to all those fortunate enough to cross his path.

When he wasn't shaping young minds, Mark found solace and joy in various hobbies. Painting and remodeling houses became not just a pastime but a skill he honed, thanks to the guidance of his lifelong friend and mentor, Kenneth Springfield. Mark's hands crafted beauty and transformed houses into homes, leaving a tangible reminder of his talent and dedication.

His free time was often spent fishing alongside his beloved son, sharing the tranquility of nature and creating lasting memories. He also enjoyed occasional visits to the casino, trying his luck with a twinkle in his eye. Riding his Harley with Sandra by his side, accompanied by their dear neighbors Sue and Sherman, brought him immeasurable joy and a sense of freedom.

Mark's faith played a central role in his life, and he found solace and spiritual nourishment as a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Azle. His devotion and commitment to his beliefs were a guiding light, and he exemplified the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness.

Mark Paul Carter will be remembered for his kindness, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sandra Carter of Azle; daughter, Amanda Carter of Azle; son, Aaron Carter of Lake Jackson; granddaughter, Murri Jenkins of Azle; and a host of extended family members and friends. Mark's memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and his spirit will live on through the lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice or animal shelter in Mark's memory.

Rest in peace, dear Mark. May your soul find eternal peace and may your light continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at The Church at Azle, 1801 S Stewart St., beginning at 2:00 PM.
