In Loving Memory of Louis Dwight Clark

1947 - 2024

Louis Dwight "Bouncer" Clark, of Azle, TX passed away on September 20, 2024 at the age of
77. Born on June 1, 1947 to Louis F. and Louise Clark of Olton, TX, he was a beloved son,
husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.

Louis, better known in Olton as Dwight, graduated from Olton High School in 1965 where he
played on the offensive line for the Olton Mustangs and earned the nickname "Bouncer." Louis
proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 as a heavy vehicle driver during the
Vietnam War. Just three months before his deployment to Vietnam, Louis married the love of his
life, Sherian McAlpine, of Earth, TX. After his military service, he dedicated 35 years to his
career as an auto mechanic and was the respected owner of Azle Automotive from 1979 to 2006.
He then continued working another fourteen years as a Service Writer for Pep Boys until
February, 2020. Beyond his professional life, Louis was deeply involved in the Azle community
and in the lives of his children and grandchildren, never missing a ball game, concert, swim
meet, award ceremony, or graduation, he was their biggest fan.

Louis was an avid sports enthusiast, most notably the Azle Hornets, Dallas Cowboys, Texas
Rangers, and NASCAR, and had many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Cooking, with never a need for a recipe, was his specialty. His salsa, breakfast burritos, brisket,
and "Bouncer beans" were the most often requested family favorites. He loved to spend time at
Lake Brownwood, baiting hooks for young anglers and driving his boat, spending untold hours
pulling any skier or tuber who was brave enough to give it a try. Known for his kind, helpful, and
generous nature, he cherished the time spent with his family around the dinner table laughing and
telling stories. He took immense pride in his children's and grandchildren's educational
achievements and the legacy of love he built with his wife, Sherian, of 57 years.

Those left to cherish Louis' memory are his wife, Sherian, his daughters Shelley Newton (Jeff)
and Melissa Hann (Lee), his grandchildren, David (Meredith Kathryn), Meredith (Brady),
Alison, Kendal (Micah), and Emory, his sister, Gayle Hankins, and numerous extended family
members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Deryl Clark.

To honor Louis's life, a visitation beginning at 1:00, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00, will
be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Azle Funeral Chapel, located on the grounds of
Azleland Cemetery in Azle, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Louis'
memory to the Veterans Affairs (VA), Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch or an organization of choice.
