Linda Laverna Stone-Hartsfield, born on February 20, 1941, in Poolville, Texas, to Lloyd Jasper Stone and Bernice Marie Jones-Stone, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2024, in Weatherford, Texas.
Linda's roots in Haltom City shaped her early years, where she was baptized at the Christian Temple. A graduate of Birdville High School, she commenced her professional journey with Dickies Clothing Company in Fort Worth, Texas, where she met and later married her devoted husband, Emmett Hartsfield five and a half months later in 1960.
They built a life together in Azle, Texas, crafting a home filled with love that they built together In 1971, marking the beginning of many cherished memories. Linda, a dedicated homemaker, excelled in raising their three children, thanks to Emmett's hard work, who tirelessly worked two jobs to support his family.
Linda found joy in her hobbies, learning crochet and knitting in her teens from Emmett's mother. These crafts became lifelong passions, and she continued creating beautiful pieces until the very end. An active member of a weekly crafting group, Linda shared her talents and formed lasting friendships.
Her love extended to her grandchildren, whom she adored. A playful and engaging grandmother, Linda even embraced video games with them. She reveled in family trips to the casino, cherished travel, and embraced the outdoors.
Linda and Emmett shared a bond that transcended time and circumstance. She stood by his side in every adventure, whether it was in a Deerstand during hunting trips or riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. They were not only soulmates but best friends, with Linda supporting Emmett in every endeavor.
Linda's dedication to family, love for her Lord, and unwavering support for Emmett define her enduring legacy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Emmett Hartsfield, her brother David Stone and his wife Diane, her son Tony Hartsfield and wife Kim, her daughter Lisa Brown and husband Steve, her daughter Lori Cargill and husband Scott, along with grandchildren Sydney Martin, Christopher Hartsfield, Andrew Cargill, Abby Cargill, Logan Brown, Landon Brown, and great-grandsons Hayden Bryant and Carter Hartsfield.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Jasper Stone and Bernice Marie Jones-Stone, Linda's legacy will be celebrated at her funeral service on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 2 PM at the Azle Funeral Chapel on the grounds of Azleland Cemetery. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
