Lena Monteza Roberts

1973 - 2023

Lena Monteza Roberts, born on July 20, 1973, in Azle, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Joe Doyle Roberts and Donna Lea Flowers-Porter.  Lena's vibrant spirit and zest for life made her known as a very lively and social person, spreading laughter wherever she went.

Kindness flowed through Lena's heart, and her love for family was a beacon of warmth. Her enthusiasm for playing board games created countless cherished memories with loved ones. She found joy in the art of cooking and baking, delighting in the creation of delicious dishes. At the age of 18, Lena was baptized, and her deep connection with the Lord was evident through her regular conversations with her mother.

Generosity was a hallmark of Lena's character, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her infectious laughter and giggly personality lifted the spirits of everyone around her. Working as a hostess at Applebee's allowed her to indulge in her social nature, connecting with customers and making them feel welcome.

Lena's creativity shone through her love for arts and crafts, which she enjoyed making and sharing with others. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her mother, Donna Flowers-Porter; daughter, Patricia Glud, and her husband, Mike; son, James Porter; daughter, Hannah King; brother, Eric Roberts, and his wife, Jessica; brother, Virgil Jones, and his wife, Stacey; as well as six grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, James Porter; father, Joe Roberts; grandmother, Vera Black; and stepdad, Curtis Porter. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
