1944 - 2025

Lena Nell Morris, age 81, passed away peacefully November 11, 2025. She was born on March 7, 1944, in San Angelo, TX to Ora Mae and Gordon Arthur. On September 8th, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Marvin Morris.

Lena was a loving, caring and giving person who will not be forgotten. She had a long career with the City of Irving, where she worked as an accountant. Lena often stated that God had blessed her, and giving her purpose in life. She opened her home to many family members and never hesitated to help with financial needs.

Family members cherish favorite memories of Lena’s bonbon candy, strawberry preserves, and her delicious yeast rolls. Her generosity and culinary skills were just two of the many ways she showed love to those around her.

Lena is survived by her husband, James Morris; Daughters Sherry Benson-Shaw and Sheila Weeks; 5 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Robbie and Liz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Per Lena’s wishes a brief inurnment service will be held on December 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Location: Azleland Memorial Park & Cemetery; Plot 63. Address: 850 N. Cardinal Rd. Azle TX. 76020. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to her favorite charities: St. Jude’s and Wounded Warrior’s.

Lena Nell Morris will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
