Kurt Loren Peterson, 64, born the fifth of five boys on January 5, 1960 in Lansing, Michigan, passed away on February 13, 2024, in Fort Worth.

Kurt was a proud attendee and lifelong, die-hard fan of Michigan State University, bleeding green and white. However, after being set up with Shirley Kiesling on a date at a bowling alley, he married her in 1980 and they moved to Texas.

He was a hard worker and had a long, successful career with Republic National Distributing Company, spending his last 11 years with them as Texas State Marketing Manager.

Outside of work, Kurt loved to travel with his wife and play golf, both for the game itself and the time it gave him with his favorite golf buddies. He never met a stranger and loved to have fun, most of all with his grandchildren, regularly plying them with candy and treats.

Kurt was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Renee Peterson, and parents, Elmer and Barbara Peterson. He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Petty and husband Dane; grandchildren Will, Miranda, Sam and Olivia; brothers Eric and wife Susan, Thom and wife Karin, Gary and wife Mary Ann, and Lee and wife Michelle. He will also be missed by his in-laws Ricky and Sherry Goodrich, Tom Kiesling, and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place Wednesday, February 21st, at 11am at his home church, Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth and he will be laid to rest later in a private ceremony beside his beloved wife at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park in Azle, Texas.
