Obituary

Katrina Michelle Reese

1976 - 2022

Katrina was born In Fort Worth, TX, to Vivian Brandenburg and Marvin "Eddie" Ledford.  As the saying goes, "It takes a village" Katrina's village was vast and she was raised with multiple people who loved her as their own including but not limited to, James Clark, Debbie Ledford, and Tonya Bourque. As a child, despite her crazy childhood, she can be described as "spunky" and "full of light" she was involved in church, the Texas Girls' Choir, and cheerleading. She attended Quitman Highschool where she was involved in volleyball, track, discus and basketball.

At the age of 17 she welcomed her first-born, Dakota into the world and focused on her new bundle of joy. At 19, Katrina married Tim Hall and had Kyler. By the age of 26 Katrina had already accomplished being a volunteer firefighter after completing a wildland firefighting certification at Texas A&M University and welcomed River into the World. At age 29, she married her second husband Steve Reese and spent the next 15 years at various peewee football, cheerleading, soccer and baseball games, band and choir concerts and of course all the parent meetings. She became a board member, the cheerleading coordinator and cheer coach of Azle Youth Association from 2006-2012 where her daughter participated in cheer. During this time, she was also heavily involved in the VFW and held the secretary position for the Ladies Auxiliary.

In 2016 Katrina met Robert and her entire world was changed, not only did she meet the love of her life, but she also began her battle with Breast Cancer. Over the next 6 years Katrina and Robert became inseparable and proved that soulmates exist. Through 2 separate rounds of chemo, and countless rounds of radiation, surgeries and visits doctors, Robert and Katrina beat the odds again and again. In the last 6 years of her life Katrina and Robert built themselves a village of friends, old and new, and showed Katrina the love and compassion she never failed to show others. In her last 6 weeks, her every wish and command were cared for and met by her family and friends, even coming home. It should be noted that even in the worst time of her life she still tried to care for and "mom" anyone near her. Katrina spent her finals days and moments in the comfort and care of her home with her family by her side.
