Jovita Adame Tovar was born on February 15, 1938 and passed away peacefully in her home on July 12, 2026 at the age of 88.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartholome Tovar and two sons, John Tovar and Lorenzo Tovar, daughter-in-law Khouanchith Xeuneoura-Chambers, and two grandson Jose Antonio Tovar and Benjamin Chambers and granddaughter Diana Muniz.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Tovar, Ramon Tovar, Jose Tovar, Michael Tovar and Ruben Chambers. Her daughters, Maria Guadalupe Tovar, Sarah Tovar, Maria DJ Tovar, Marie Schuler, Carmen Torres, and Nancy Chambers. As well as 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was widowed in 1969 at the young age of 31 with ten children. She later had three more children and did an amazing job raising her children as a single mother.

She was a hard worker and taught her children the importance of being a hard worker. Through hard times, she taught us how to press through the difficulties in life.

She enjoyed sewing and making things with her hands. She was extremely tidy and would often say, "When people come over, they might not see a rich house, but at least they will say it was clean."

Her home was a place where everyone was welcome and where meals were shared and lifelong memories were made.

She made the best tamales, and we have yet to find any better than hers.

She will be greatly missed, but the memories and all of the life's lessons that she has taught us, will be forever in our hearts.
