Josephine Doryen Bacon

1971 - 2023

Josephine Doryen Sebwe Bacon was born in Monrovia, Liberia on June 13, 1971.  She was the daughter of Liguori N. Sebwe of Sasstown, Grand Kru County in Liberia, and Josephine Bornyeno Sankwen Sebwe, Picnic Cess, Grand Kru County. She was seven years old when her mother died on February 18, 1978 in Monrovia.

In 1982, Doryen's sister, Emmelyn Jrople Johnson residing in the United States, sent for her to continue her education; she was eleven years old when she arrived in the United States. She graduated from Midwood High School Brooklyn, New York and was admitted to Farmingdale College, East Farmingdale, New York. Josephine Doryen Bacon was the wife of Raymond Bacon of Texas; the wedding took place in Texas on July 21, 2018.

Josephine Doryen Sebwe Bacon is survived by her father, her husband, four children, and one grandson.  She is also survived by six brothers, five sisters, and a host of relatives.

Josephine Doryen Sebwe Bacon was a veteran of the United States Army; she studied radiology while enlisted in the United States Army, was a radiology technician for 13 years, fitness trainer for 20 years, owned and operated Body Expectations Bootcamp for 10 years, owned and operated B.E. Thera Massage for 1 year.

Josephine (Josie) Doryen Sebwe Bacon touched so many lives during her time here on earth and will be greatly missed by all. Her legacy of love, creativity and generosity will forever live on in the many lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Mass will be held on Friday, June 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, TX with interment to follow at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
