In Loving Memory of Joan Michelle Pentland

1943 - 2024

Joan Michelle Pentland, born January 26, 1943, in Glendale, California, to Elmer Christian and Olga Katherine Schliep, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024. Joan was a smart, funny, and God-fearing woman who loved Jesus deeply and was truly concerned about the salvation of everyone God placed in her path. She was always ready to pray over any and everyone, sharing her unwavering faith and compassion.
Joan dedicated nearly 25 years of her professional life to Farmers Insurance, where she worked as an underwriting analyst. Her colleagues remember her not only for her dedication and expertise but also for her warmth and kindness.
Her greatest accomplishment, however, was her role as a loving single mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan's family was the heart of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her hobbies reflected this love for family and included spending time laughing, telling stories, sharing memories, and playing games together. Joan also enjoyed swimming, watching old classic movies and romances, and traveling with friends and family.
Joan was the best listener and never ceased being supportive and compassionate. She touched the lives of many with her genuine concern and heartfelt prayers. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
She will be deeply and loving missed by her daughter, Susan Pentland with whom she lived with in Haslet, Texas; her son, Steve Dixon and wife, Nancy, of Valrico, Florida; grandchildren, Aaron Fuentes and Jeremiah Fuentes whom shared a home with Joan in Haslet, Texas, David Dixon and wife, Dulce, of Cozumel, Mexico, and Danielle Swansin and husband, MacCale, of Valrico, Florida; and the newest addition her great-grandson, Alex Dixon.

Joan's life was a testament to her love for Jesus and her unwavering commitment to those around her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
