Jimmy Ralph Waits

1941 -2023

Jimmy Ralph Waits went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on January 25th, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 7, 1941, and the only son of Ralph Wayne and Alta Augusta Waits. He graduated from Castleberry High school in 1959 and married the love of his life, Mary Evelyn Pemberton. They were happily married for 62 years.

Jimmy loved fishing, playing cards, board games, going on cruises and vacations and just hanging out with his family and friends. He taught us all how to laugh and have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to many.

Jimmy & Mary had three children, Jimmy Wayne Waits and wife Adina from Denton, Texas; Jackie Waits and wife Alicia from Mansfield, Texas; and Renee Oran and husband Jason from Azle, Texas. He had nine grandchildren, Garret Spears, Tyler Spears, Travis Spears, Cody Waits, Brad Trent, Kimberly Trent, Hannah Greene, Felicity Oran, and Jason Oran and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Wayne Waits; mother, Alta Augusta Waits and two sisters, Joe Ann Grant and Alta Faye Mahoney.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, 2023, at 9:00 AM in our Azle & Lakeworth Funeral Home chapel with a service to follow at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be held at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park after the service.
