Weatherford, Texas - Jimmy Lee Merritt, 82, loving husband, dad, grandfather, and brother, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2023.
Jim was born on October 28,1940 to Joe Merritt and Clara Lee Beasley. He was a person who had many talents. Jim was a proud member of IBEW Electrical Workers Union for 60 years. He was a great musician and singer who played Country and Gospel music professionally. He was loved by many friends. Jim always expressed his love for the Lord and his brothers and sisters. He spent countless hours traveling and camping, but some of his best memories were made with a fishing pole in hand and his son and grandchildren by his side.

He is preceded in passing by his father, Joe Merritt; mother, Clara Lee; brothers, Joe Merritt and Robert Griggs; and sisters, Sherrie Carroll and Elizabeth Attebury.
Jim will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Laverne; son, Richard Merritt; daughter in law, Carla Merritt; daughter, Deana Merritt; grandchildren, Ryan Merritt and Ashley Merritt; sisters, Arlene Ringener, Sandi Rodgers, and Marilyn Merritt; brother-in-laws, Ron Rodgers, Don Ringener, Richard Carroll, and Pat Attebury; and many nieces and nephews.
He will always be remembered for his smile and loving kindness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM.
