JIMMY DOUGLAS GEORGE

1944 - 2022

Jimmy George fought the fight and won the race, Jimmy passed away on February 15, 2022, at the age of 78 after a courageous and long battle with Alzheimer's, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Services will be held Tuesday, February 22, at Azleland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 850 Cardinal Rd, Azle, Texas 76020. Pastor Jim Edwards will be officiating.

Jimmy loved preaching the gospel.  After retiring from the automotive air condition industry, he went into full time ministry as pastor of Solid Rock Bible Church, Boyd, Texas. In 2000 he received the International Mobile Air Conditioning Association's Industry Pioneer Award. Jimmy loved his Lord and Savior. He loved raising cows, baling hay, building dune buggies, and riding motorcycles. Jimmy was blessed to be able to travel extensively, within the states and abroad.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Betty; His daughters: Sheila Carey and husband Charles of Azle, Sunja Stevens of Azle, Tina Honeycutt of Azle. His sons, Troy George of Colleyville, Robert George, California, David Honeycutt and wife Dona of Azle; Sister: Sandra Rico of Hurst, Becky Sanford and husband Don of Colorado City; Brother: Don Carter and wife Liz of Denton.12 Grandchildren, 24 Great- Grandchildren, and 3 Great- Great-Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his first love Dorothy Diane George, parents, Loyd Lafayette George and Mabel Lorene Henry, brother Loyd George, Van George and grandson Dayton Bryant.

Sweetheart, Dad, Papa, Grand-Dad, Brother, Uncle Jimmy, Pastor and friend, will be greatly missed by many.
