Jim Andrew Nichols

Jim Andrew Nichols, 84, of Boyd, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was born on April 5, 1942, in Kermit, Texas, to Hubert M. and Lois Mable Nichols (Hardaway), who preceded him in death.

Jim lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unconditional love for others. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His understanding heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need left a lasting impression on all who knew him. To his family and friends, Jim was simply a very good man.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Pearson; his sons, David Nichols and Logan Nichols; his daughter, Taylor Galvan; his stepdaughters, Tammy Kelly and Debra Stevens; nine cherished grandchildren; and numerous cousins and extended family members who will miss him deeply.

Jim enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and passions. He loved playing softball, spending time around guns and classic cars, and staying active through working out. More than anything, though, he treasured the people in his life and the time spent with those he loved. Jim was a kind and faithful Christian man whose life reflected compassion, humility, and devotion to God. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and love for family and friends. 

Jim’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, generosity, and love. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
