Obituary

In loving memory of Jerry Rogers, born on July 5, 1944, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Milton Rogers and Edna Rogers. He left this world on January 18, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jerry's journey began at Central High School, where he graduated in 1961. Following his graduation, he spent his days hauling hay for various farmers before finding his calling as an auto body mechanic at Phillips Aubrey Chevrolet. In October 1964, he met the love of his life, June, and they embarked on a lifelong journey together, sealing their union on March 26, 1965. In 1967, he was saved by our Lord and baptized at Cameron Baptist Church. Jerry's life unfolded as a tapestry of service and dedication. He started a family with June, welcoming sons Kerry in December 1965 and Kelvin in February 1969. His career path led him to Allstate Insurance, where he served as a claims adjuster for 36 years, ultimately settling in Fort Worth, Texas. A man with a servant's heart, Jerry found joy in blessing others. Whether it was cooking meals, delivering for Meals on Wheels, or lending a helping hand with household repairs, he touched many lives leaving an indelible mark on those around him. Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, June Rogers, and his sons Kerry Rogers and Kelvin Rogers with his wife, Angela Rogers. Cherished grandchildren Jordan, Jaclyn, Katie, Janelle, and Justin, along with great-grandchildren Kaslynn, Suttyn, Sylas, Rowyn, Berkley, Hadley, and Kinsley, will forever hold his memory dear. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and two sisters. His loyal companion, Molly, the beloved family dog, mourns his passing as well. Preceded in death by both parents and three sisters, Jerry's life was anchored in the steadfast embrace of Normandale Baptist Church for 54 years. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Normandale Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The visitation will commence at 1 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:30 PM. As we bid farewell to Jerry Rogers, may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration of faith to all who were privileged to know
