Jerry Dalene Kuykendall

April 25, 1947 — May 31, 2026

Jerry Dalene Kuykendall passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on May 31, 2026, in Azle, Texas. Jerry was born on April 25, 1947, in Kern County, California, to Loy and Wanda Powell, married to her loving husband, Sonny Kuykendall, for 65 wonderful years.

She is survived by her three children: daughter Tammy Gunter and husband Robert; son Keith Kuykendall and wife Patricia; and daughter Sunshine Kukulka and husband Karey. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Johnson and husband Mike; 16 grandchildren: Justin, Ryan, Taylor, Dakota, Ty, Meagan, Brittney, Blayke, Huntyr, Colton, Beverly, Angel, Leah, Summer, Keri Ann, and Christopher; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Wanda Powell; her brother, Robert Powell; and her husband, William Edward "Sonny" Kuykendall.

A remarkable talent emerged in Jerry at a young age. She possessed the ability to hear a tune and play it by ear. This gift led her to share her music throughout her life, playing in various churches for many years. Jerry dedicated 31 years of her life to "The Word" at Lakeside Church of God, retiring on October 7, 2018, but leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched with her melodies.

Jerry was not only known for her musical talents, but also for her love of beautiful high-heel shoes paired with matching purses and jewelry-the flashier, the better. She also loved collecting high-heel shoe figurines that reflected her personality, along with Victorian lady figurines, teacups, and saucers.

Jerry's life was a testament to faith, music, family, and joy. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Jerry also had a fulfilling career at Bryant Art Foundry, where she worked for 17 years. Following her time there, she and her beloved husband, Sonny, opened and operated Circle K Cars & Trucks together, creating a business that reflected their shared dedication, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Word at Lakeside.
