Jay C Gordon

November 8, 1936 — January 12, 2026

Jay C. Gordon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Hurst, Texas, at the age of 89. He was born on November 8, 1936, in Royse City, Texas, to Sam Gordon and Wilma (Swint) Gordon.

Jay lived a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and deep love for his family. He was a man who built things with his hands and his heart—whether it was a project in the workshop, improvements around the ranch, or the strong family bonds that defined his life. Pine Top Ranch held a special place in Jay’s heart, where he found peace caring for the land and enjoying the outdoors he loved so much.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Jay felt most at home under open skies. He also enjoyed woodworking, western movies, and cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams. These simple joys reflected the steady, grounded nature that made him such a comforting presence to those around him.

Jay is survived by his devoted wife, Ramona Hollis Gordon; his children, Carla Gordon Peveto and her husband Mike Peveto, Misty Malin and her husband Matt Malin, Bruce Gordon and his wife Barbara Gordon, Roe Gordon and his wife Nicole Gordon, and Jay C. Gordon Jr.; his son-in-law, David Pickett; his brother, Herman Gordon and wife Jane Gordon; and his granddaughters whom he helped raise and cherished deeply, Mercedes Pickett Evans and Sydney Claire Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Wilma Gordon; his daughters, Beverly Gordon and Dusty Pickett; his sons, George Gordon and Rex Alexander; his grandchildren, BJ Lemons and Tyler Pickett; his sister Jo (Gordon) Pickett and her husband Cecil Pickett; and his sister Christine Gordon.

Jay’s legacy is one of strength, perseverance, and unconditional love. He leaves behind a family shaped by his guidance, generosity, and quiet wisdom. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.
