Hazel Lee Oldham

On February 17th, 2021, Hazel Lee Oldham, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 86, of Fort Worth, went to be with the Lord. Hazel was born September 10th, 1934 in Sugden, OK, to Solen Petty and Flora Steele Petty. She retired from the offices of the Fort Worth Police Department and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department.

As a woman of generosity, Hazel looked out for everyone. Whether she met a stranger in need or she was on her knees praying for her family, Hazel loved everyone she met. She called everyone "Sweetie" or "Honey" and made everyone feel like they were the most special person in the room. Her generosity showered others whether she had little or had much.

She was a talented seamstress and frequently made dresses for her daughters when they were young girls. She could craft anything from crocheted socks to wedding dresses and often bestowed her handiwork to her family. She loved to laugh and have a good time.

One of her favorite phrases in her later years became, "Better to have fun than not!" She loved Jesus and would tell everyone that Jesus loves them! She read her Bible up to the very end of her life and loved hymns. The love of Jesus poured out of her to everyone she met, from the staff at her home to nurses helping her.

Hazel is survived by her daughters, Vicki, Pam (Rod), Patricia (Chris), eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.'
