Haroldette (Heddy) Earlene Gove Steel, 83, a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed through the gates of heaven to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Funeral and Burial: 2:00 P.M. Friday March 1, 2024 at Azleland Memorial Park and Cemetery, 850 Cardinal Rd. Azle, Texas, 76098. Visitation will be at 1:00PM prior to the funeral.

Heddy was born May 3, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harold Edward Gove and Alberta Ruth Baker Gove. She was married to her husband, Eddie Leon Steel, on January 16, 1959. She spent some time as a licensed vocational nurse and an office manager for a small company, but most of all she devoted her life to researching and living according to the word of God. Heddy held an unquestionable soundness of faith. She was ordained to preach and spread the gospel through Servanthood Ministries as well as additional ordination by the International Fellowship of Chaplains. She taught Sunday School lessons, held Bible clubs, worked as a church secretary, and preached at nursing homes and various local churches.

Heddy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Bruce Gove.

Survivors: daughters, Cally Evans and husband, Curtis, of Keller, TX, and Vonnie Massingill and husband, Tony, of Angel Fire, NM; sons, James Steel and wife, Tonie, of Weatherford, TX, and Eddie Steel II and wife, Shelly, of Sargent, TX; grandchildren (Christy Springfield, Courtney Morgan, Andrew Ludwick, Melissa Baker, Jerad Steel, Aaron Steel, Eddie Steel III, Keri Hendrix, Chrystal Rutherford, Caty Childers, and Carly Harkins; 23 great-grandchildren

Memorials: Heddy has requested that in lieu of flowers please give an offering to Granbury Church of God to send to India Orphanage.
