Gregory Roman Johnson, beloved father & friend, passed away on August 4, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM.

Gregory was born on May 24, 1951 in Mechanicville, New York to Roman Johnson and Wanda Pruszkaowski.  He married the love of his life, Carol Johnson, and together they shared two beautiful daughters, Danielle Empey and Alexandra Johnson.  Gregory was very intelligent and graduated from the University of Louisiana Monroe earning a Master's Degree in Chemistry.  This led him to provide for his family as a Research Development Chemist.  Gregg enjoyed scuba diving, so much so that he owned and operated his own dive store as well as worked as a  course director for PADI.  He loved to make everyone around him smile whether it was from his amazing cooking or  his witty jokes.  Gregg had a heart of gold, and always the first one to lend a helping hand when needed.  He truly loved his wife beyond words.  Gregg fought the good fight and was looking forward to finishing his race as his final statement to his daughter was, "I'm finally going to get to be with the love of my life."

Gregory will be deeply & lovingly missed by his daughters, Danielle Empey and Alexandra Johnson; grandson, Dax Empey; granddaughter, Kira Empey; sister, Barabara Merkelson; and a host of loving friends.
