George Allen Hatfield

George Allen Hatfield, born on November 5, 1944, in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully in Fort Worth, Texas on October 09, 2026. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1962. George will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his big, lovable personality and his unwavering faith.

George met the love of his life, Sandra Hoover, while working as a linotype operator at The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The couple married on November 12, 1970, in Durant, Oklahoma, and soon after, George began an illustrious career in car sales that spanned over five decades. Throughout this time, he worked at various dealerships, ultimately founding his own used car lot before returning to Yates Brothers Motor Co. in Fort Worth, where he retired in 2015.

A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Castle Hills in Azle, George loved singing in the church choir, where his deep bass voice could always be heard. He cherished spending time reading the Bible, often sharing his love of scripture with his mother, Gladys. Throughout his life, George was known for helping others and never met a stranger, sharing the message of Jesus with all he encountered.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Hatfield; his children, Jesse (Laura) Hatfield, Shaina (David) Primeaux, and Kristi Hatfield; his grandchildren, Christopher Dowell, Ashley Evans, Michael and Brandon Hatfield, and Tyler Primeaux, 6 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Nancy Shutter and Sandy Gann. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his youngest grandson, Tyler, who affectionately called him "Big Boy."
