Gary Dale Sugg

1946 - 2024

Gary Sugg of Azle, Texas, passed away at the age of 78 on August 1, 2024, due to coronary disease. Born on May 4, 1946, in Post, Texas, Gary was the tenth and youngest child of Lester and Rosie Sugg.

Gary was a true jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he owned several businesses and served as a dedicated Fort Worth police officer. His skills extended far beyond his professional roles and included construction of just about anything and everything, from houses, cabinetry and furniture to guitars and model airplanes — essentially anything involving wood.

Gary was also an incredibly talented artist, musician, and had a passion for cooking and serving delicious spicy food — a legacy that lives on with each of his three grandchildren. In his retirement years, Gary channeled his creativity and craftsmanship into restoring old trucks, a hobby that brought him immense joy and satisfaction.

In addition to his many talents, Gary will be remembered by those who knew him well for his sense of humor and knack for storytelling.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Lura Sugg, his daughter, Connie, and her husband, Joseph Marciante, and their children — son Matthew and his wife Jacqueline, son Michael and his wife Chelsea and daughter Mckenzie — and grandchildren, Elliana and Olivia.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude for the support and care of family and friends during this time.

A Visitation will be held on August 8th, 2024 at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 AM at Azle and Lake Worth Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Azleland Cemetery.
