Gail Joyce Meharey, 86, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas. She was born on March 17, 1940, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, and spent her life creating a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Gail was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. She had a heart big enough to "adopt" all the neighborhood kids, treating them with the same warmth and care she gave her own family. Her home was a place where people gathered, shared meals, laughed together, and made lifelong memories.

She was a talented cook who could bring comfort through every meal she prepared. Her cakes were legendary, made not only with skill but with love, and were often the centerpiece of family celebrations. Gail also found joy in painting and scrapbooking, preserving precious memories and expressing her creativity in beautiful ways. She loved to travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places, always returning home with stories to share.

Life was not always easy for Gail, but she faced every challenge with remarkable strength and grace. She made the very best of a difficult life, never allowing hardships to diminish her generous spirit or her love for others. Her resilience was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Above all else, Gail treasured her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She celebrated their accomplishments, comforted them through difficult times, and loved each of them unconditionally. Her family was the center of her world.

Gail is lovingly survived by her son, Robert Meharey; her brother, William Cable; her cherished grandchildren Tommy Meharey, Richard Meharey, and Brittney Meharey; the mother of her grandchildren, Amber Meharey; and her beloved great-grandchildren Kelsey Meharey, Addy Meharey, Ezra Meharey, Aurora Meharey, Rainey Meharey, Sahara Meharey, and Farah Meharey; along with many extended family members, friends, and countless people whose lives she touched with her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Paula Meharey; her son, AJ Meharey; and her daughter, Sandy Meharey.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Gail's love lives on in the lives she shaped, the traditions she created, and the memories she leaves behind. Her laughter, compassion, delicious meals, beautiful cakes, creative spirit, and endless love for her family will never be forgotten.

Gail will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
