Obituary

In Loving Memory of Fred Dewain McCulley

1942 - 2023

Fred Dewain McCulley of Willow Park, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17,  2023. He was born October 18, 1942 in Bridgeport, Texas to Fred Warren and Janice Marie  (Coffman) McCulley.

Fred graduated in '61 as a proud Lake Worth Bullfrog. He played baseball and was captain of  the basketball team during high school.

He began his working career in 1961, and discovered his passion in the Aerospace industry,  leaving a legacy for others to follow in his footsteps. He worked his whole life in various  machine shops and ultimately retired from Lockheed Martin. He was proud to have worked on  many aircraft to include the B1-Stealth Bomber, F1-11 Osprey, the C130, the F-16 and the F-35.

He thoroughly enjoyed teaching and sharing his wealth of knowledge of life experiences in the  machining world and the business aspects of it. He was able to seal many deals in his life with a  good look in the eye and a firm handshake. He was firm in his decisions yet had a tender heart.  He was strong in his convictions and beliefs in faith, family, relationships, and politics. Whether  you personally liked him or not, he ascertained your respect.

If you were to look up "Texas Cowboy" in Webster's, a picture of him would be there. Not only  did he wear the Wranglers, boots, and cowboy hat, he had a lifelong love of horses and was an  amazing horseman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and enjoyed catching a good game of  the Rangers or Cowboys with his family.

He was steadfast with humor and wit. He had no end to his one-liners. He never met a stranger  and could always find a way to break the ice and make you feel at ease with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred Warren & Janice Marie McCulley, former Wife and  Mother to his four children Nancy (Yarbrough) Merrifield, Sister Helen Janice "Teenie"  McCulley-Choate, Grandson Breydin Ritter, Sister-in-Law Johnnie McCulley, Nephew Robert  McCulley, and his dearly beloved fur son Gambler.

He is survived by his Life Partner of 23 years Robin Hamilton of Willow Park, Three Sons: Fred  (Karen) McCulley Jr. of Ft. Collins, CO., Darren (Michele) McCulley of Rockwall, TX., Bryan  (Misty) McCulley of Burleson, TX. One Daughter: Angela (Joel) Bocanegra of Corpus Christi, TX.  His Brother Doug (Anna) McCulley of River Oaks, TX. and Sister Beverly (Johnny) Leverett of  Burleson, TX, Grandchildren; Ryan McCulley, Dylan McCulley, Caelan (Alyssa) McCulley, Sean  McCulley, Kyleigh (Kyle) Landry, Kandi McCulley, Robert Lee, Cheyenna Lee, Aleah Holt,  Anthony Miller, Gabriel Jones, Sarah Jones, and Trinity Gates. Former Daughter-in-Law Heather  McCulley, Great-Grandchildren: Mackenzie McCulley and Patton Landry, Cousins: Jack  (Suzanne) Coffman, Rose Marie (Sam) Coffman-Kaufman.
