In Loving Memory of Franklin D. Taylor
1932 - 2026
Franklin D. Taylor, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Azle, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 16, 1932, in Huttig, Arkansas, to Norman and Annie Taylor.
Franklin was the second oldest of nine siblings, growing up in Arkansas where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and family that would guide him throughout his life. In Strong, Arkansas, he met the love of his life, Eddie Marie Taylor. Their enduring love became the foundation of a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, resilience, and shared joy. In the late 1970s, they moved their family to Texas, where they continued to build a life centered on faith and togetherness.
A devoted member of the Church of Christ on Davis Boulevard, Franklin lived his faith through quiet kindness, steady service, and a deep commitment to his church family. One of his greatest joys was attending the annual church camp in Missouri, a tradition he cherished and looked forward to each year with his loved ones.
Franklin had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing. If there was water nearby, he was ready with a rod in hand. Some of his most treasured memories were made on fishing trips with his grandsons Heath and Clint, along with bonus grandson Josh. Those moments by the water were filled with laughter, stories, and lessons that will live on in the hearts of his family.
He was a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found immense joy in his family. He adored his grandchildren and took special delight in spoiling them—especially his granddaughter Paige, whom he would often whisk away for a quick trip to Sonic, creating sweet memories that will never fade. Franklin’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and the deep pride he held for his long life, his enduring marriage, and the generations that followed him.
He is survived by his son, James F. Taylor and wife Laura; daughter, Ramona M. Lasater; and his beloved grandchildren: Leah R. Anthamatten and her husband Tim; Clinton W. Taylor and his wife Yveht; Paige L. Herbert and her husband Jeremy; Heath A. Lasater and his wife Holley; Jerod B. Lasater and his wife Hannah; and Justin B. Lasater. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Lucille Parrish and Marthell Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eddie Marie Taylor; his son, Brent Allen Taylor; his son-in-law, Steven D. Lasater; his sisters, Annie McEwen and Dorothy Carter; and his brothers, Charles Taylor, Harold Taylor, John Taylor, Ernest Taylor, Julius Taylor, and James Taylor; as well as his parents, Norman and Annie Taylor.
Franklin will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the deep love he had for his family. His life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the beauty of a life well lived.
