In Loving Memory of Franklin Delano Jackson

1933 - 2026

Franklin Delano Jackson, known lovingly as “Buddy” and “Granddad,” passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 92 years old.

Buddy was born on March 26, 1933, in Wilmer, Arkansas, to Leo and Annette (Reaves) Jackson. He was raised with the values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family - principles he carried with him throughout his life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp, embodying the discipline, strength, and quiet courage that defined his character. After his service, he devoted himself to building a life centered on love, family, and community.

Buddy was a proud alumnus of Arkansas A&M University, now known as the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He believed deeply in education, perseverance, and leading by example.

He shared 72 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Patricia Croft Jackson. Their enduring partnership was a testament to loyalty, friendship, and a love that spanned generations.

He was a devoted father to his six children: Griff, Denise (David), Mark (Gail), Chuck, Mary, and Rebecca. His legacy lives on through his 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom knew his steady presence, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Buddy was an avid golfer who found both joy and peace on the course, and a lifelong fan of baseball who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. Some of his most cherished moments, however, were the simplest ones - sitting around a campfire with a glass of scotch in hand, surrounded by those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and quiet reflection under the open sky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Annette Jackson, and his brothers Leo Jr., David, Kerry, and Don.

To know Buddy was to know steadiness. He was strength without noise, leadership without ego, and love without condition. His life was not only measured in years, but in the generations he shaped and the memories he created. His legacy of service, devotion, and deep love for his family will endure.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Buddy will be having a graveside service, Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 @ 10:00 AM. This will be held at Azleland Memorial Park, Located at 850 N. Cardinal Rd, Azle, TX 76020.
