Obituary

Frances Odette Dustin

1947 - 2022

Fran was born January 11, 1947 to John and Huguette Allan. On December 19, 2022. At the age of 75, Fran's fight against dementia ended as she was called home to her Father on December 19, 2022.
Fran was born in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Savannah, Georgia to create lifelong memories with her parents and sister. After leaving home, she lived in Fort Meyers, Florida, Buffalo and, New York before moving to Texas to lovingly raise her children. Fran loved to travel throughout her life and felt at home on the beach collecting seashells to share with her grandchildren. Fran was incredibly proud to be mom to her children. She was even more proud to be Nana-banana to her grandchildren. She would take any opportunity to share a story, show a photo, or brag about them.
Fran was blessed to meet her husband, George Dustin, in 2011. They were married on their farm in Azle, Texas on July 17, 2011. George and Fran created fond memories living in Weatherford, Texas before moving to call Glen Rose, Texas home. There she enjoyed trips to the Square, parades in front of their home, and making friends at Storiebook Cafe. Fran didn't know a stranger and would stop to pray with anyone even if she had just met them…but especially first responders and those in the military. Her relationship with God was indescribable.
Fran had a lifelong relationship with Christ. In July of 2021, she became a member of the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose and was baptized August 2022. She was overjoyed to have found a faithful community with her fellow followers of Christ. Although she did not get an opportunity to join the church choir as she had hoped, we know she is in heaven, singing in God's choir. Fran enjoyed music and found peace in listening to her favorite songs in her last weeks.
Fran's friends and family will remember her fervent sweet tooth which she happily shared in the treats she would make for the neighborhood. They'll miss her craftiness, often found making Homecoming mums for her children and friends' children. Anyone who knew Fran would agree that she had a heart bigger than the size of Texas…caring for and loving everyone she was around.
Fran was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana and friend. She will be greatly missed by many.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, John and Huguette Allan, son Brendon McBride, grandson, River Olson, and son-in-law, Chris Tidwell.

Fran will be deeply and lovingly missed by her sister, Martine Mizener of Tallahassee, Florida; loving husband, George Dustin; children, Tim McBride of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Michelle Olson of Fort Worth, Texas, Chris (Rae Jean) Zoltowski of Bayfield, Colorado, and Leah Tidwell of Fort Worth , Texas; grandchildren, Randon Olson, Tatianna Zoltowski, River Olson, Rylee Olson, Makayla Zoltowski, Collin McBride, CJ Zoltowski, and Tenley Tidwell; great grandchild, Raedon Olson, nieces, Erica Swanson and Felicia Mizener; and numerous friends.
Fran is looking down at us, smiling, feet in the sand, enjoying a French pastries with the lottie dahs, and ready to sing in God's choir.
