In Loving Memory of Edna Marie Allen
1952 - 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Edna Marie Allen, born on October 22, 1952, in Floydada, Texas. Edna was lovingly raised by her adopted parents, Joseph and Mary Done Allen, who gave her the foundation of love, strength, and devotion that she carried with her throughout her life.
Edna was a woman of remarkable warmth, faith, and generosity. She found joy in life's simplest pleasures—playing Bingo, spending time at Winstar, and watching her favorite shows like Charmed and The Rifleman. A lover of cowboy movies, she had a special fondness for Christmas, which always brought out her joyful spirit. Above all, she cherished the moments she spent with her family, and the holidays were never complete without her presence.
A woman of great kindness and resilience, Edna devoted much of her life to taking care of her loved ones. She ran her own cleaning service for many years until she became disabled, at which point she turned her energy into being a full-time homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her children. Her unwavering faith in God sustained her through life's challenges, and she often said, "If God be willing to say the same," reminding all who knew her of the importance of trust and hope.
Edna's kindness knew no bounds. She always saw the bright side of things, even in the most difficult times, and believed in the goodness of people. Her compassion extended to everyone she met—she had a heart that would open to anyone in need. Her wisdom was simple yet profound: "Be kind, you never know who may be one of God's angels."
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children were always her top priority, and she loved them with an intensity that was both unyielding and unconditional. Edna's legacy lives on through her children: Joseph Adrian Vandetta Allen, Rosemary Robyn Christina Porter, Charlesetta La'Gora Tinagha Smith, and J'cee Matther Edtwaun Smith. Her grandchildren: Whitney Hayden (husband Michael Hayden), Gaew Tyler Mrugalski, Somchai Chandler Mrugalski, and Pramuk Meranda Mrugalski, as well as her great-grandchildren: Zac Mrugalski, Zoe Mrugalski, Pneuma Smith, Dorothee Smith, Chloe Hayden, Aiden Mrugalski, Rose Mrugalski, Maddie Mrugalski, and Drake Mrugalski, will carry her love and wisdom in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
Edna is also survived by her sister, Judy Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Moland, her grandchild, Leungsak Blake Mrugalski, her parents, Joseph and Mary Done Allen, her birth parents, Rosa Gardley and Eddie Warren, and her sister, Carolyn Porter.
