Donisha Jo Harris
1966 - 2022
Donisha Jo Harris was born to her parents, Donald Cleland Pointer Sr. and Barbra Jo Tortella-Pointer in Russellville, Arkansas on November 16, 1966. Donisha left this world to return to her Eternal home in The Kingdom of Heaven on October 15, 2022, near Jacksboro, Texas.
Donisha was one of the most tender-hearted and loving people that God has ever placed on this earth. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, an incredible grandmother and a terrific friend to so many that were lucky enough to know her. Donisha would go out of her way to make people feel special and her smile and laugh were simply infectuous. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Donisha was very proud of the work that she performed for the Azle School District. She served as the Azle Child Nutrition Kitchen Manager for five years and worked in the field of child nutrition for over twenty years. A job and career that always was a challenge, but one that never made her weary, and one that she loved every single day. She looked forward each and every day to seeing the people she worked with, who affectionately, became her family away from home and the children that she got to see grow each and every year.
While Donisha was passionate about her work, her family always came first. She married the love of her life, Brian Harris in 2004 and together they created what most people would consider a magical life of love and laughter. Her grandchildren were her world and she relished spending time with them. Donisha loved to not just spend time with her family, but she really enjoyed the family vacations that they spent together. She always loved the simple pleasures in life, whether it was a day spent on the lake fishing or an afternoon shopping at the mall. She was an easy person to be around, as she had a laugh that was contagious. She was the sort of person that just always seemed to make friends easily and she had so many! She could always be counted on in times of hardship by others. There was never a favor to large to ask of Donisha, as she was always the first to volunteer help to others. Donisha was kind to everyone and everything and this included her animals, but she was especially fond of French Bulldogs.
Donisha was the very essence of what is known as the heart of the family and she will be deeply and lovingly missed by her husband, Brian Harris; her sons, Justin and his wife, Kimy Kates and Joshua and his wife, Brittnie Kates; her grandchildren, Kayleigh and Wesson Kates; her sister, Ruby Baker; her nephew, Brewster Baker and his wife Kiele and their children, Saylor, Wyatt and Finley Jo; her niece, Brittany Burt and her husband, Michael and their children, Aiden and Alexis; her nephews, Bailey and Lane Pointer; her niece, Tori Pointer and countless other friends and family.
Donisha was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, Donald Pointer.
While the family is greatly saddened by the sudden loss of this very wonderful lady, they ask that anyone that knew and loved Donisha to come and celebrate her life (a life well lived) on Saturday October 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Azle Funeral Chapel on the grounds of Azleland Cemetery.
