Diane Holmes

January 12, 1943 — January 2, 2026

Diane Ardelle Holmes, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas. She was born on January 12, 1943, in Barre, Vermont, where her life began with the quiet strength and warmth that would come to define her.

Diane was a woman of gentle spirit and deep feeling, whose love was most clearly expressed through music, creativity, and family. Gifted with a remarkable ear for music, she played the piano beautifully without ever needing to read a single note. In her younger years, she shared this gift in church, filling sacred spaces with melodies that came straight from her heart. Music was always a source of comfort and joy for Diane, as was her lifelong admiration for Elvis Presley and Princess Diana, figures she cherished for their grace and humanity.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—word searches at the kitchen table, coloring and painting with quiet focus, and settling in to watch romance and comedy films. Her favorite movie, Pretty Woman, reflected her love for stories filled with hope, transformation, and heart.

Diane Holmes was devotedly married to her beloved husband, Ronald Jackson Holmes, for nearly 64 years. Their marriage was one of deep love, mutual care, and unwavering devotion. Diane tended to Ronald with great tenderness until his passing in June of 2025. We take comfort in celebrating the belief that they are now reunited, once again in each other’s loving arms.

Above all else, Diane treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother whose love was steady, patient, and unconditional. She is survived by her sons: Richard Holmes and wife Rhonda Holmes; Randall Holmes and wife Karie Holmes; and Rodney Holmes and wife Noelle Holmes. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Haylee Holmes and Katie Holmes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who brought her immense pride and joy.

Diane is also survived by her siblings: sister Pamella Rabler and husband Fritz Rabler; sister Sheraldine Silva and husband Mike Silva; sister Rebecca Fontenetta and husband Tom Fontenetta; and brother Mark Webster and wife Karen Webster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Webster Sr. and Marion Webster; her brother, Marshall Webster; and her sisters, Paula Jane Ellis and Roselyn Salling.

Diane Ardelle Holmes will be deeply missed, but her music, her creativity, and the love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
