In Loving Memory of Dennis Ray Boiles
1948 - 2024
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Ray Boiles, aged 76, of Fort Worth, Texas, who peacefully passed away at home on December 7, 2024. Dennis was born on July 5, 1948, in Midland, Texas, to the late H.B. and Mary Boiles. He was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he grew up surrounded by the warmth and love of a close-knit family that instilled in him strong values of faith, integrity, and community.
Dennis' life was a testament to his unwavering faith and devotion to the Lord. From an early age, he was baptized and committed himself to living a life of service to God and others. His religious convictions were evident in all aspects of his life. He was a faithful member of the Church of God, often sharing his love for scripture and his profound connection to the teachings of the Bible, particularly the Book of Revelation. Dennis sought to embody the Christian principles of love, kindness, and humility in everything he did. Later in life, his calling to ministry led him to pursue the Ministerial Internship Program, and he received his credentials to serve the Church of God with distinction, a role he approached with great passion and dedication.
Dennis was also a proud graduate of Brewer High School, class of 1966, where he met the love of his life, Diane. Although their early interactions were less than harmonious, their bond blossomed over time, and in 1980, they married. Their love story is one of enduring friendship, commitment, and mutual respect. Dennis and Diane shared a deep love for each other, and together they created a life full of joy, adventure, and cherished memories. They reveled in their travels and treasured the time spent together. Dennis was a devoted husband, always supportive, loving, and attentive to Diane, and their relationship was the cornerstone of his life.
Beyond his role as a husband and father, Dennis was a successful entrepreneur. He opened and ran several successful donut shops in Wellington and Boyd, Texas, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were exemplary, and his dedication to his family was unparalleled. Later, Dennis moved back to Fort Worth, where he worked at Lockheed Martin until his well-deserved retirement. In every job he undertook, Dennis was known for his dependability, attention to detail, and a tireless commitment to excellence.
A man of many talents, Dennis had a deep love for the outdoors. As a young boy, he spent countless hours camping, fishing, and trapping animals with his father, instilling a lifelong appreciation for nature. His love of craftsmanship was equally strong; he was an accomplished artisan, skilled in the creation of knives, sheaths, belts, and wood plaques. His work was a reflection of his meticulous nature and the care he put into everything he created.
Dennis was not only a loving husband but also a devoted father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He showered them with love, wisdom, and support, always there with a listening ear or a word of encouragement. His legacy is carried on through his family, who will continue to honor his memory by living the values he held dear—faith, hard work, and above all, love.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Boiles; his sons, Richard Lee Boiles and wife Jodi, David Pettyjohn, and Robert Pettyjohn and wife Jessica; his daughter, Ka-Lynn Granderson and husband Steve; his sister, Diane Vossler and husband, Grady, 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Mary Boiles, and his brothers, Malcolm Boiles and Gailen Boiles.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 20th, at 8:00 AM at The Word Church, located at 9396 Confederate Park Rd, Lakeside, TX 76135. The service will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park, located at 850 N. Cardinal Rd, Azle, TX 76020.
Dennis' life was a radiant example of faith, family, and hard work. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, devotion, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to cross his path. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain a guiding light for his family, friends, and all who loved him.
