David "Mike" Michael Mathis, Sr.

March 09, 1945 - May 06, 2022

David was born in Fort Worth, Texas to his parents, Marvin and Ruth Mathis. David went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 6, 2022.

David was a proud US Armed Forces Veteran, he served four tours of duty in Vietnam. David was awarded the Purple Heart; he then went on to receive Honorable Discharge and retire from the US Armed Forces.

David enjoyed working on cars and building smokers for BBQs, but most of all, David loved spending quality time with his family and friends. David will be loved and dearly missed by his family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Mathis, and his mother, Ruth Mathis, his son, Darryl Mathis, his brothers, Pete Mathis, Skeeter Mathis, Joe Paul, and Jim Mathis, and his sisters, Glynna Holder and Ann Seagraves.

David is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Joyce Mathis, his daughter, Cindy, his son, Michael Mathis, and his grandson, Nicholas. David will also be remembered by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother in-laws and sister in-laws, and his nieces and nephews.
