David Lynn Shumate
1954 – 2019

David Lynn Shumate passed away on August 16th of 2019. He was born in Vernon, Texas on August 10th of 1954.

David was an avid fisherman; he loved to have family cookouts and spend time with his family and friends. David loved watching football on NFL Sundays. David was very family oriented, he used to give advice to his family and friends when they needed him. David worked in the construction field throughout his entire 20's and 30's. David shared a painting business with his two sons, David and Jeff. David was even a free mason and worked for the city of Fort Worth in his 40's. David was a loving father, husband, brother, and friend.

David will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Debbie Ann Shumate; his sons, Bobby Glenn Welch, David Earl Shumate, Jeffrey Lynn Shumate and Tony Dale Shumate; his daughters-in-law, Candace Ciara Brown and Sarah Marie Green; his grandson, Chayce Whyatt Brown; his granddaughter, Adilynn Ciara Shumate; his brothers, Dennis Shumate and Danny Shumate; his sisters, Glenda Spring, Lela Deann Medrano, Pamela Joe Stone; and many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Earl Shumate; his mother, Lola Mae Searcy; his sisters, Brenda Mercier and Sandra Kay.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 6th at 6:00 PM in care of Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home, 850 North Cardinal Road, Azle, Texas 76020.
