Chip Wood, age 71, of Ponder, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 2nd, 2025. Born on September 18th, 1953, Chip lived a life filled with family, dedication, and passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.L. Wood and Nancy Lee Slatewood, and his brother, H. Larry Wood.

Chip leaves behind a legacy of love and family. he is survived by his four children: Amie Crawford, Kreestay Wood, Josh Wood, and Chris Lee. He was a cherished grandfather to twelve grandchildren and a beloved great-grandfather to twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

For many years, Chip dedicated his career to Cockrell Printing Co. Outside of work, he found solace and joy in fishing and woodworking. He also had a deep passion for animals, demonstrating a kind and caring spirit.

A graveside service to honor Chip's life will be held this Saturday, March 15th, at 11:00AM at Azleland Cemetery, located at 850 N. Cardinal Rd. Azle, TX 76020. Flowers can be sent to this address. Please let the florist know to deliver to back chapel doors on the day of the service.
