In Memoriam - Carolyn F. LaRochelle

Carolyn F. LaRochelle, born on July 22, 1945, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, passed away on January 2, 2024, in Azle, Texas. She was the daughter of Alpheus Lloyd Fenix and Nellie Rose Hudson-Fenix.

A proud graduate of Poly High in Fort Worth, Texas, Carolyn exhibited exceptional intelligence, leading her to successfully pass the US postal exam. For 37 years, she served diligently as a US postal clerk, a testament to her dedication and work ethic.

As a single mother for a significant period of her life, Carolyn tirelessly worked two jobs to support her two children. Her love and devotion as a mother were unparalleled. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

Beyond her professional life, Carolyn found joy in riding her Yamaha motorcycle alongside her children and was renowned for her culinary skills. For over 30 years, Monday nights were reserved for Nona's dinners – a tradition that brought her children and grandchildren together.

Her spiritual commitment led her to the Springtown Baptist Church, where she embraced her faith wholeheartedly. In 1987, while working a second job at Kmart, Carolyn met Daniel LaRochelle, and their connection blossomed into marriage in October of the same year.

Animals held a special place in Carolyn's heart. Known for rescuing stray dogs and other creatures in need, she and Daniel lovingly raised various animals on their farm, with a particular fondness for emus and alpacas.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Daniel LaRochelle, her son Phillip Cook, her daughter Rene Erwin, grandchildren Rachele Parsons and her husband, Trent, Kaci Erwin, Neil Cook, Tessa Erwin, Justice Cook, and three great-grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents.

A graveside service in memory of Carolyn F. LaRochelle is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2 PM at Azleland Cemetery in Azle, Texas. Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
