Carolina Garza Gonzalez - 07/05/1949-02/19/2022 of (River Oaks, TX.)
After a year-long battle with Cancer, she went to be with our Lord on February 19, 2022.
She was born on July 5, 1949, in Galveston, TX to the late Abelardo Ortiz Garza and Evangelina Pena Garza. She was raised in Galveston, TX before moving to Lubbock, Fort Worth and her final residence of River Oaks, TX.
As a single parent, Carolina worked hard as a Radiologic Technologist to provide for her children. She later remarried and moved to Lubbock where she worked with and cared for the mentally challenged and disabled. She had a passion for caring for the disabled. It was not unusual for her to literally bring her work home with her, there were plenty of times those she cared for would come home with her for dinner. She treated them like they were her own children. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as all her family, nieces and nephews. Carolina loved to cook, dance and listen to music. She was a very giving person and would give anything she had to someone in need. She would do anything for her family and always helped where she could. If you ever met her, you knew she loved life and she had such a beautiful smile with an infectious laugh. Carolina was a devoted Catholic and you could always count on her for prayer.
She is preceded in death by both her parents; her sisters, Theresa and Linda; her brother, Alfred; her husband, Alejandro G. Gonzalez and her son, Guy Angel Gurule.
She is survived and will be missed dearly by her daughters, Diana Gurule-Copado (Robert) of Lubbock, TX, Suzie Gurule (Cesar Valero) and her son, Jimmy Gurule of Fort Worth, TX. Her partner, Joe Chavarria; her 5 grandsons, Stephen Salazar, Abel Suniga, Jr., Matthew Salazar, Elias Suniga and Jaden Salazar; her great grandchildren, Alexander Sierra, Crissie Suniga, Christian Suniga, Audrie & Madalyn Salazar; her sisters, Beatrice Garcia, Cecilia Garza, Angela Garza (Gilbert), Christina Garza (Reggie), Elizabeth Garza-Baker; and her brothers, Abelardo (Marivel) and Jose (Kimberly) Garza.
