In Loving Memory of Barton Bradley Salter

1965 - 2024

Barton "Bart" Bradley Salter, 58, passed away on January 30, 2024 at his home surrounded by his girls. Bart was born on April 29, 1965 in Mansfield, Texas to Charles and Shirley Salter. At 22, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Shanna Snelson. They shared a love you only read about in fairy tales.

Bart loved his girls, grandson, family, farm, and grand-dog, Maggie. He loved his sweet tea, frozen margaritas, classic country music, cruises, vacations, and spending quality time with his family and friends. If you knew Bart, there was never a dull moment. He always had a joke in his back pocket. He truly enjoyed making people smile and laugh. Anyone who knew Bart would describe him as a selfless, loving, and amazing man. He was known for being a great man, husband, father, Poppy, brother, uncle and friend. You always knew how much he loved you. He never met a stranger, and he always left a lasting impression. Bart will be missed beyond belief and cherished forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Shirley Salter; his grandparents, Virgie and Boss Durham and Nina Salter; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Fletcher.

Bart was an incredible husband, father, and Poppy. He is survived by his wife, Shanna Salter; their children, Jamie Salter, Lauren Salter and her partner, John Rodriguez; grandson, Charlie Rodriguez; his siblings, Jimmy and Barbara Salter, Penny and Bobby Reynolds, Steve Salter, Tammy Salter, and Greta and Matt Haynes; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held on February 7, 2024 at the Sunset Cemetery in Sunset, Texas at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest next to his parents.
