Barbara Sue Talley
Barbara Sue Talley, 79, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She was born on March 13, 1947, in Cherokee County, Texas, to William and Mildred Havens.
Sue grew up in a loving, hard-working home alongside her siblings Calvin, Donna, and Glen. She carried that foundation of love and strength throughout her life. She was a devoted wife to Jesse David Sharp and later to James “Jimmy” Duane Talley.
A natural caregiver with a generous heart, Sue spent many years cooking and serving others. She worked as a chef at the Garner Store and Cafe and was beloved for her warm hospitality and delicious home-cooked meals. Whether feeding family or friends, Sue made everyone feel welcome at her table and in her life.
She will be remembered as the loving family matriarch — quick with a smile, a listening ear, and unwavering compassion. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, spending time talking with family, and reading. Above all, Sue was known for her tasty food, her never-ending faith, and her deep compassion for others.
Sue is survived by her daughter Shanna (Tom) Elkey; niece-daughter Christy Willis; grandchildren Doc (Hailey) Sharp, Cassi (Nicholas) Tanner, and Brooke (Ryan) Thurstonson; and great-grandchildren Drew, Madison, Everleigh, Wyatt, Axel, Sloan, Rian, J.C., and Shelby. She also leaves behind Ali Crowe, Jastin Moore, Taylor Atkinson, Chase Talley, Talley Goldston, MacKenzie Talley, Caitlynn Talley, Stone Terrell, and Meegan Talley, as well as Dawn Stewart, Jacqueline Talley, and Jim Talley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Perrin Church of Christ, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m.
In honoring Sue’s life, the family finds comfort in her strong faith and the many lives she touched with kindness and love.
