In Loving Memory of Aretes Elaine "Elaine" Tubbleville
1956 - 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aretes Elaine Tubbleville, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Elaine passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 68. She was born on February 17, 1956, in Fort Worth, to her loving parents, JT and Donna Brannen. Raised in a Christian home, Elaine was baptized as a child and carried her faith with her throughout her life.
Elaine spent all of her years in North Texas, where she formed lasting connections with friends and family, building a rich legacy of love and community. She was known for her kindness, creativity, and warm, open heart. Elaine had an undeniable gift for bringing people together, whether it was through her beautiful handmade creations, her tireless involvement in the Decatur community, or simply by sharing her infectious laughter and boundless energy with those around her.
Her love for crafting was one of her most cherished pastimes, and she spent countless hours working on DIY projects. A true artist, she especially loved creating mums and garters for local high schoolers, a tradition that brought so much joy to her and the young people she helped. Her hands were always busy, and each project she undertook was a reflection of her immense care and attention to detail.
Elaine was a remarkable cook, always preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. She loved nothing more than gathering those she loved around the table and making them feel cherished with her culinary creations. Her home was a place of comfort and love, and her family always knew they could count on her for support and guidance, no matter what.
Family was at the center of Elaine's world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, always putting the needs of her loved ones above her own. Elaine shared a deep and unshakable bond with her soulmate, Mark Tubbleville, whom she married on July 7, 2007, at 7:00 PM in Decatur. Their love was built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and friendship. Elaine and Mark were each other's best friend and confidante, and their partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Elaine's devotion to her family was a defining aspect of her life. She nurtured and cherished each of her children, creating individual and unique relationships with each one. Her role as a mother was one of deep pride and purpose. She was fiercely protective of her loved ones and could always be counted on to offer honest, straight-to-the-point advice—even when it wasn't what someone wanted to hear. Elaine was a true "mama bear" who would stop at nothing to protect and care for her family.
Elaine's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild: her husband, Mark Tubbleville; her son, Robert Burns; her daughters, Tammy Cornstubble and Samantha Elizabeth-Ford (and her husband Eric Ford); her six grandchildren, Auston, Kyla, Tazlee, Octavious, Sweet Pea, and Lily; and her great-grandchild, River. She is also survived by her four brothers, Bill Brannen, Marshall Brannen, George Robertson, and Woody Wood.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, JT and Donna Brannen; her stepmother, Dolly Brannen; her stepbrother, Larry Wood; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Brannen; and her beloved aunt and uncle, Wanda and Jack Eldridge.
Elaine's spirit of love, faith, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of service to her family and community will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
