In Loving Memory of Annita Nyirangororano

1956 - 2024

Annita Nyirangororano, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and compassionate soul, passed away peacefully in her home in Grand Prairie, Texas, on June 20, 2024. She was surrounded by her devoted family, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and enduring strength.

Born on January 1, 1956, in the heart of the Dominican Republic of the Congo, Annita was the cherished daughter of Kayogera Semarora and Kagori Mariya. From a young age, she embraced life's challenges with resilience and grace, traits that would define her journey.

Annita's early years were spent in her homeland, where she completed primary school and found joy in the simplicity of farming and raising domestic animals. Her innate desire to care for others led her to become a medical assistant with the Red Cross, a role in which she provided essential medical care, from administering vaccinations to offering first aid and supporting pregnant women. Her dedication to helping others earned her the admiration and respect of many.

In 2004, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future for her family, Annita made the courageous move to the United States. She embraced her new life with determination, and in 2015, she proudly became a U.S. citizen, an achievement that marked a significant milestone in her journey.

Annita was married to the love of her life, Butera Munyakabera, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, raising four children who would go on to make their own mark on the world. Her children, Kayitesi Agnes, Arfoncine Umutoni, Charles Musana, and Yvonne Karuta, were her greatest pride. Each child found a partner who shared Annita's values of family and love: Muhire Ndungutse, Lody Kamana, Mahoro Musana, and Sabato Kadhadi, respectively.

Annita's legacy extends to her eleven cherished grandchildren: Aliane Kaneza, Deborah Ingabire, Prince Baraka, Emmy Kagiraneza, Anitha Akaliza, Diocles Hirwa, Selma Kamana, Levi Musana, Elijah Musana, Ethan Musana, and Ivana Kadhadi. She delighted in their presence and spent countless hours creating memories that will forever be treasured.

Her life's journey was not without its trials. Diagnosed with diabetes in 1999, Annita faced her health challenges with the same courage she applied to every aspect of her life. Even a coma could not diminish her spirit, and she continued to embrace life with unwavering faith and love.

Annita was the fourth of six siblings, a close-knit family that shared deep bonds. She is reunited in eternity with her siblings, Nyirabageni Zena, Nyirabushushanyi Peruth, Gikumba Enock, Nkuriza Wamariya, Karinganire Vestine, and Karasira Boniface, who each preceded her in death.

Despite her many roles and responsibilities, Annita always found joy in simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, engaging in heartfelt conversations with friends and family, and extending her helping hand to those in need, particularly in Africa. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and kindness, a testament to her nurturing spirit.

Annita Nyirangororano's life was a tapestry of love, service, and resilience. She will be remembered as a beacon of strength, a source of comfort, and a guiding light for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we celebrate her remarkable life, we find solace in the memories she created and the love she so generously shared.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire and uplift those who carry her spirit in their hearts.
