In Loving Memory of Amy Lynn Stapleton

1969 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Amy Lynn Stapleton, who left us far too soon on December 9, 2024. Amy was born on October 27, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Kathy Lawyer and Martin Knudson. Raised in a nurturing, faith-filled household, Amy was blessed to grow up with the love and care of her grandparents, Bill and Laverne Dees, who became her guiding lights throughout her life. They instilled in her a deep sense of family, kindness, and a resilient faith that she carried with her always.

Amy's love for the Lord and devotion to Christ was evident from a young age. Baptized as a child, she made a lifelong commitment to her faith, finding strength and purpose in her relationship with God. She was raised in a Baptist household where the values of love, compassion, and service were instilled in her heart. Amy's life was a true reflection of these teachings, and she lived with a steadfast determination to help others and spread kindness wherever she went.

A proud graduate of Castleberry High School, class of 1988, Amy embarked on a journey that would shape her into the incredible woman she became. It was in the early days of 2003 that she met her beloved husband, Dennis Stapleton, in an MSN chat room. Little did they know that their first conversation would be the start of a deep, lasting connection that would change their lives forever. From the very beginning, Dennis was drawn to Amy's strength, determination, and her remarkable ability to love and support those around her. Their bond grew stronger with each passing day, and they were married on August 8, 2010, in a beautiful ceremony that marked the beginning of a lifetime of shared love and adventure.

Amy was a woman of meticulous detail and care, a trait that defined many aspects of her life. One of her greatest talents was her ability to manage finances with precision and wisdom. She had an extraordinary knack for budgeting, always finding a way to navigate unexpected expenses and keep everything on track. Her thoughtful planning made life easier and more secure for those who loved her. Amy's ability to make even the most challenging circumstances manageable was a testament to her strength and dedication.

Among the things Amy loved most was planning vacations. She approached every trip with the same meticulous attention to detail, carefully budgeting each aspect, from fuel costs to dining options and hotel stays. Whether it was a quiet getaway or a grand adventure, Amy made sure every detail was perfect, allowing those around her to relax and enjoy their time together. Her love for cruises, especially, was something that brought her immense joy—exploring new places, relaxing by the ocean, and creating beautiful memories with her husband, Dennis. Amy's latest and most ambitious project was planning a Route 66 road trip to Las Vegas in 2026. Every stop along the way was carefully considered, from fuel stops to attractions, with the kind of attention to detail that only Amy could provide.

What truly defined Amy, however, was her strength. Life's challenges never caused her to back down; instead, they fueled her determination to persevere. Amy faced every setback with grace and resilience, inspiring all who knew her. She had an uncanny ability to lift up those around her, offering her unwavering support and loyalty to her friends and family. She was the first to offer a helping hand and the last to give up on those she loved. Her strength was a beacon of hope, reminding us all that no matter what obstacles we face, we can overcome them with the right attitude and heart.

Amy is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Stapleton; her daughter, Ashley Knudson; her brother, Tony Lawyer; her sister, Amanda Campbell; her mother, Kathy Lawyer; Berenice Angulo, whom she considered a daughter; and her beloved kitty, Bebe. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Knudson; her brother, Cody Lawyer; and her grandparents, Bill and Laverne Dees.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, at 9:00 AM at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home. Amy's service will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by her graveside committal at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park, located at 850 N. Cardinal Rd, Azle, TX 76020.

As we say goodbye to Amy, we are reminded of the incredible woman she was. Her strength, determination, and unwavering support will forever inspire us. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in our hearts. Amy's love will continue to guide us, and we will honor her memory by living with the same kindness, resilience, and faith that she demonstrated every day. Rest in peace, Amy, knowing that you have left a lasting impact on all who knew you. You will never be forgotten.
