In Loving Memory of Gayle Wilson Pearson Jr.
1959 - 2024
Gayle Wilson Pearson, 65, born on February 18, 1959, in Helena, Montana, passed away on March 23, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. The beloved son of Gayle Pearson Sr. and Pauline Bryant, Gayle lived a life marked by dedication and simplicity.
As a young child, Gayle’s family moved from Montana to north Texas, where he stayed for the remainder of his life.
Early on, Gayle took an interest in the Navy. He enlisted at the age of 17, but it wasn’t long before he realized the service life wasn’t for him and he left to pursue other endeavors. Many who knew him remarked that he had quite a knack for baseball in his younger years, likening his skill to that of someone who could one day go pro. He was always ready to step up to bat when needed.
However, Gayle opted to live a simple life as a skilled tradesman and welder, of which he has been over the last 30 years. He was known for his unwavering work ethic and dedication. Welding was not just a means of livelihood, but a passion he took pride in. A blue-collar worker to the bone, he was always willing to put dirt on his clothes to put food on the table for his family.
Gayle enjoyed watching football and listening to rock music and 90’s country. More insightful than he led on, he found inspiration in cosmology, and took great interest in the mysteries of the universe. When his TV was on (which it always was), you could bet it was turned to the NatGeo channel with a space documentary playing. That, or The Big Bang Theory.
Despite his accomplishments, Gayle remained humble. The man wanted for nothing. He was not materialistic, proving instead that you truly don’t need much to be content with life. He found happiness in the little things, and shared that joy through his sense of humor.
Gayle leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, humility, and love. He is survived by his daughter Taylor, son-in-law Robert, daughter Heather, granddaughter Rosanne, and sister Roxie. Though he may no longer be with us, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Gayle Pearson will be deeply missed and forever cherished as a father, son, brother, uncle, colleague, and friend.
“We had it all when we didn’t have much.”
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Benbrook Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM.
